Bowral Apartments

The client brief called for an extensive luxury apartment scheme adjoining the golf club. JSA designed the project around a natural watercourse, with the building treated as a piece of landscape. Solid sandstone base elements were complemented by landscaped wall elements and planted roof terraces. Despite the building breaching height controls, the Council was supportive of the design because of the way the massing integrated with the topography. However, the scheme did not proceed beyond the design stage when local real estate advice suggested that luxury apartments would not be acceptable to the Bowral market.
