Objective
The client required a design that provided apartments ranging from studios up to large family sized units where all access was provided from a secondary street on the high side of the site. Due to the extremely poor ground conditions resulting from fill over former marshland, JSA Studio designed a building to utilise CLT and reduce the weight of the structure by over 70%, thus minimising the piling to rock at 30m depth.
