Rockdale City Interchange
Status: Proposal
Objective
A design and development team directed by JSA Studio identified an opportunity to develop the sites surrounding Rockdale Station in conjunction with the air rights above the rail corridor.
Outcome
- An urban design for a large public plaza above the rail corridor
- Reconfigured rail station and ticketing
- Redevelopment of the sites surrounding the station
- Mixed uses with retail, commercial and residential
- Building volumes that maximise the development potential available under the flight surfaces envelope
